Scammed at the Register No Consent, No Transparency I just had my first experience at Lids and it’ll definitely be my last. I came in to buy a hat and when I checked out, the cashier asked for my email. Fine. I gave it assuming it was just for a receipt. After I paid, the total seemed higher than expected. I stepped outside, checked my email for the receipt, nothing. Went back in and asked for a paper copy. That’s when I noticed a $10 “Access Pass” charge that I never asked for, agreed to, or was even told about. This is straight up deceptive. No one mentioned an additional fee or what this “pass” even is. Sneaking in extra charges without informing customers is unethical and feels like a scam. It’s unacceptable to sign people up for things without their knowledge, especially when you’re collecting emails under the guise of sending a receipt. Corporate needs to take a serious look at how stores are pushing this charge. If you’re charging people for a membership or loyalty program, get consent. don’t slide it into the transaction like fine print. Fix this.

If you want a custom cap, just go there. They will listen to your needs and adapt to you. Hats off to their professionalism.

Came in today to get the new “Cinco De Mayo” Diamondbacks fitted and the experience was amazing. Diego assisted me with finding the right size and even hooked me up and helped find the perfect font for extra stitching. Thanks again Diego, you’re the guy!!!
